I have Octopussy on laserdisc and the CAV format allows you to freeze each
frame (something you cannot do with DVD). It seems to me that the car is
definitely anthracite. The "brown" effect is evident when the car first
drives into the town square. Perhaps this is due to the lighting of the set?

Also, after Bond "borrows" the car and proceeds to power slide out of the
town square, the freeze frame shows the cornering attitude of the car to be
so extreme that the front tire is almost coming off the rim!!
