Spica engine lost power

Alfisti,

Last weekend my Alfetta lost power completely and the engine stopped.  When 
cranking it it's acting like it wants to start and dies immediately.  Giving 
that fact, I thought it must be the fuel system, but seeing the Marelliplex 
thread, I'm not so sure any more.

I've changed three fuel tank filters on this car(getting cheap on gas and 
going ARCO, not doing that any more:) and I know the sounds of the fuel pump 
when that happens...  It's not it, the fuel pump runs smoothly.

Anybody has some experience with this type of failure mode on a 
Spica/Marelliplex engine?

I know that's a general question with not much info, but I'll dive in 
tomorrow and want to get more opinions.
