164 roof racks

Do any of you 164 owners have experience with the factory roof racks ?
Specifically how do accesories mount
onto the crossbars?  Is this rack compatible with or actually made by any of
the well known manufacturers of racks? (e.g. thule ).  I would love to use a
factory rack but would also like to use a fork mount type bike rack
rather than the kind that stands the bike upright with the front wheel on.
Any info much appreciated.
