More on Marelliplex

I found the time last night to run the tests on my Marelliplex ignition.

Everything was fine, except the coil resistance measurements. Here's what I
found:

resistance between coil terminals: 1.2 ohm vs. 0.69-0.75 per Centerline Cat.
resistance between coil output wire and terminal: 6800 ohm vs. 7100-8700 ohm

I don't have a good feel for how much tolerance there is in the specs... does
anyone? Also, would higher resistance in the coil lead to weak spark? My
unit sparks fine, but is yellow/orange instead of blue/white; i.e. it looks
weak.

Of course, i wouldn't be so worried if it weren't a $160, non-returnable
part.

Anyone with a good Marelliplex system willing to take some measurements?

Anyone in the Philadelphia area willing to let me try their Marelliplex unit?

Joel Hailey, can you either measure a new one or give me some suggestions?

As always, thanks for the help and moral support.
