i installed a 528i afm in my 3.0 gtwe6. bmw afm pn is 0 280 203 011.

you have to heat up your stock rubber intake hose in boiling hot water to get it
to stretch-fit over the bmw afm. be careful not to melt the hose by letting it
rest on the bottom of the pot when you're boiling the water. after the water
has boiled, let the hose sit in it for at least 5 minutes. plan on inventing
some new words! :>)

you'll need to get a cone-style filter, or mod the airbox to bolt up to the bmw
ecu - it's the same width, but a bit taller. i ran mine w/the stock airbox lid
(bottom two bolts fit fine), w/duct tape covering the opening at the top, til i
sourced a 2nd used airbox lid - then a shop charged me $70 to modify it to
bolt-up correctly. cone filters draw warm air from the engine bay, unless
shrouded... a decent shroud mite be harder to make than modifying the airbox...

jon kirshtein sez ya also have to reduce the tension on the afm spring to
achieve proper idle - i did so & it worked fine. i dint try it as received, so
i dunno if it wooda worked anyway. i did *no* mixture mods. jon recommended i
get the bmw afm instead of buying a modd'ed afm from him - i got one from him
for my werde a couple years prior. the bmw afm opening is ~35%-40% larger than
the stock alfa afm.

hope this helps,

doug s.
