No, but I have heard about NSU RO80. Unlike Alfa it was made 
with a rotary engine (and ate them as candies!).
The story went that RO80 drivers greeted each other with
sticking up 1,2,3... or whatever number of fingers to each other.
This was not meant as an obscene gesture, but signalled how
many engines they had went through in their car.
I guess the hard part was when you had to drive without shoes. :-)

Today I've heard you can get good piston seals for them and
actually drive them for a while before it stops.
