Panhard rods, slidin' blocks & PITAness

Based on the responses to this question, would it be safe to say that a 
Panhard rod provides, say, 85% of the "goodness" of a sliding block (even an 
exotic one like was profiled back in EC in 1993, on an article on a "modern" 
GTA...which, if I recall had a teflonized sliding block) arrangement for 15% 
of the cost/PITA?

80%-20%? 95%-5%?

Enquiring minds wanna know.
