Hi group:
I need some pearls of wisdom regarding the adjustment of the outer door handles on my
'74 Spider. It's been a few months since I removed the broken ones and I have just found
the time to install the new ones. The problem is that I can't seem to get the adjustment
correct, and I can't get the doors to open from the outside. Ideas, please?
This may have been discussed already, but has anyone replaced Spider seats, of the
same vintage as my '74, with something a bit more modern? I'm thinking about searching
some junkyards for seats from a Miata, Probe, Prelude, etc. for something that might fit
well. I'm generally not involved such sacreligeous mods, but I have been spoiled lately by
seats of some of my other recent cars (BMW, Volvo, even the Cherokee!). I don't want to
spend the money on new Recaros, and cloth upholstery would be nice here in the tropics
of Florida. A shoulder belt guide on the seat back would likely also be needed, as I've got
a set of 3-point belts from a later Spider that I'm also installing in place of the lap-only belts
that came in the car. Has anyone found anything that fits with a minimum of aggravation?
Regards,
