Y2K on Macintosh et al

Fred:

Glad your Mac's OK; most PCs will be, too (and can be checked by downloading
a free Y2K test from www.nstl.com). But PC-related problems are less likely
to come from the machine's basic clocks than from non-compliant versions of
the application software we run on them (whether Apple or PC) - or even from
non-compliant date calculations we've built into our spreadsheets and
databases. And even then I think the great majority of the stuff we all use
at home will be fine.

Don't want to take up too much space on Y2K, but am willing to discuss
off-line if anyone has questions, as I've been working on this in the hotel
industry for the last two years.

I knew Apple designed in all of the years up into some 20 thousand years
but
I wanted to test it myself. Set the time and date for 12/31/99 11:59pm and
waited a minute to see it come up with the right time and date in 2000.
I'm
happy with that, how about all you PC owners? Fred Di Matteo>>
