Cam2

Pardon my ignorance on this fuel injection cleaning stuff, but what exactly
is Cam2? On my BMW 733i (first generation Motronic so it's based on the
L-Jetronic), things like Techron and Redline SI-1 would work well, but
nothing worked as well as removing the injectors and having them
professionally flushed. Installing the new seals probably helped with any
minor vacuum leaks as well.

As for the thread on the 2000 v. 1750, I have no experience with the latter
but when I was a kid, my dad had a 2000 Berlina. It was a 1974, Euro spec
with twin Solex carbs (some people swear 2000s never came with Solex, but
they did). He loved the car, and so did I. It was fully loaded with A/C
and a limited slip differential. He redlined the thing for hours at 5800 in
5th for 190 kph (118 mph). It was very fast, very torquey, went up hills
and mountain roads like it was designed to and it was reliable. The main
thing it needed to keep it running well was a good tune-up frequently (I'm
not talking about one every 30,000 miles), especially calibration and
synchronization of the carbs. As for 0-60 times, that car was advertised at
10 seconds and that's what my dad would get. Of course, this time was
achieved without dropping the clutch or anything like that, just a standing
start. He bought the car after he saw a Car and Driver comparison of the
2000 with the BMW 2002 tii and some Mazda. He drove the BMW and liked the
engine but he loved the Alfa's soul and that's what he got.
