Tiring decisions

For all those out there agonizing over the lack, 
paucity,dearth,scarcity,absence, or unavailability of decent older sized 
rubber, please remember that modern all season rubber will make even high 
performance street tires from the early 70s look completely silly. Tires 
and Tyres have come an awful long way since then. If you have racing tires 
for your older ALFA, why turn your nose up at the latest all season design 
for street use? A back to back comparo of old summer "performance" tires 
and the newest all season rubber available from the top makers would be a 
no-contest annihilation of the older rubber by the newer "street" rubber.
