Tamburello, was F1 Tie breaker

For the sake of accuracy, in recent history several drivers besides Senna
had hit the wall at the Tamburello in Imola, including Piquet (1987), Berger
(1989), Alboretto (1991), and Patrese (1992). In it's former configuration
drivers took it flat, at speeds around 310 km/h, generating ~4g of lateral
acceleration.

It is, and probably always will be debatable as to the cause of Senna's
crash. We know that tyres were cold after 4 laps with the safety car, and
that Senna was not happy with the handling of the car that weekend.

concrete walls. When Senna died after a steering failure caused him to
crash into a previously un hit concrete wall at Imola, all hell broke loose
and F1 instituted major safety revisions to cars and tracks. Michael
