Moto Guzzi Land Speed Record

Congratulation to Moto Guzzi.  As a former owner of a 850 Lemans II I can
say that these bikes really flew.  I had mine up to an indicated 235 kph,
probably closer to 210 kph (about 130 mph) given the optimistic speedometer
when I went over a slight rise in the road and unloaded the front wheel.  It
was then I discovered that I needed a new steering dampener - not the time
to find out.  Luckily it didn't go into a speed wobble, the front wheel just
nodded back and fourth.  It was a long and slow decent to more reasonable
speeds and I missed my off ramp, but better than sliding or tumbling down
the highway.
