Hole in piston

Well Jim join the club. I would bet that if you check there is no
valve seat left on your exhaust valve. I had seen this happen to other
cars usually with expensive results. It also happened to my ITS car back
in June. Car was revving fine then if felt like I had hit the rev
limiter - but I was only doing 5500 RPM. The motor had no compression.
After pulling the head the valve had broken in two. The had holed the
number six piston. There was nothing left of the valve seat. Looks like
the seat fell out at speed, some how cutting the valve in half, with the
pieces of the valve breaking the piston. Not a pretty sight, but the
motor had only 160,000 miles and three years for road racing.
