Howdy and a 164 Question

Just wanted to give an electronic wave back to the fellow in the sharp
looking black 164S who waved at me and two sharp looking Italian ladies
in my shabby looking blue Milano gold in Winston-Salem, NC this
saturday.  Don't suppose you'd want to swap that 164 for the Italian
girl in the back?  :)

This, and my wife's approval of the 164's looks got the gears turning. 
So naturally I'm looking around for 164s.  A question:  Can the
expensive shocks on the 164S be swapped for normal 164 shocks with a
minimum of hurt to the handling and without much altering of the
suspension setup?  Anybody with the metal aussie gears for the stepper
motors want to comment on the effectiveness of that fix?
