Re: horses & near sides



    John, I have done a little w/ horses & other livestock.  When working w/ 
large strong animals w/ a highly developed flight instinct, it doesn't pay to 
do anything unpredictable.  They and their operators are trained from the 
earliest age that the proper approach is from the left side. For right handed 
people, this gives the left hand the job of anchor (a relatively simple 
task), and leaves the more dextrous and controllable right hand  free to do 
any other task that might be needed.  A more random approach such as you 
propose will most likely yield a very short career for you in animal 
husbandry!  If your life is a little dull now, and you are looking to spice 
it up, this might be a good way to do so!  let us know how you make out!
