164 Input Shaft Bearing

Has any one personally replaced an Input Shaft bearing on a 164?
I have almost completed my engine rebuild. (Nero is so clean now--- I think
every seal in it was leaking!)
I have an input shaft bearing (thanks Bill) and I have a gear box sitting on
the floor (clean too) What happens next? Do I have to dissemble the gear box
or can I do it by removing that (clean :)) plate where the input shaft goes
into the box?
