Greetings Alfisti !
Well, I finally removed the Shankle SuperSport tortion bars & springs =
from my Milano gold, put the stock ones back, left the Shankle f & r =
swaybars and turned the Koni reds up one click. The car sits an inch =
higher now but the ride is much softer. It leans a bit but the stiffer =
setting on the shocks help keep it somewhat under control. I also =
replaced the glazed front rotors and the front and rear brake pads. =
Wow, my car stops again !
I am going to sell the supersport tortion bars and springs, but I was =
wondering if anybody wanted to trade me a set of Shankle Sport tortion =
bars and springs? I now realize that that's what I should've gotten in =
the first place.
Also, ever since I got my Yokohama AVSi's the car wanders at speed. Or =
should I say that it now has very poor on-center feel. I've tried =
running the pressure up to 36psi all around and down to 30psi front and =
28psi rear. Nothing seems to help. It didn't do this on the crappy and =
hard old Michelins and it was noticable the day I bought the tires so I =
don't think it's an alignment issue. I love all other aspects of the =
tires so far. They are stock size 196/60 R-14 on stock alloys. Any =
suggestions/observations/anecdotes would be greatly appreciated.
And now for something completely different:
I just got my Duetto's gas tank restored. I had the RENU process done =
to it ( saw it advertised in Hemmings ) . They sandblasted the tank =
inside, repaired a hole I didn't know was even there, and put a baked on =
coating on both the inside ( brown colored ) and on the outside ( black =
). All for $205 !! That's cheaper than getting a late model tank and =
having my old neck welded on. They even put a numbered brass tag on it =
and give you a lifetime warranty. As you can probably tell I'm very =
pleased with the result and am worry free about the tank now. Like =
usual I'm not affiliated with the company or their contracting shops, =
yada yada yada. Now all I have to do is pull the old motor, get the =
car painted, put in the rebuilt motor, put in a new interior .........
Ciao for now !
Dan
