My guess is the brushes on the pump motor are at the end. Contact is still being made, but the brush pressure on the commutator is very low. I bet a common Bosch fuel pump from a 80's VW (CIS or L-Jet) would work fine. At any rate, it will set you back about $100. ------------------------------
