Elephants.com

If you aren't aware of it already, please check out www.elephants.com, the
website of The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee, USA. It's billed
as "a natural-habitat refuge where sick, old and needy elephants can once
more walk the earth with peace and dignity." They just received a new
elephant, "Bunny", from the Evansville, Indiana Zoo.

As an animal lover of the first magnitude, I'm immensely proud that such a
facility exists in my home state. The tales of these magnificent creatures
and their response upon coming to the Sanctuary is heartwarming, to say the
least. As far as I know, it is the only such facility in the world.

Alfa Content: I'm hoping we can work out some tie-in with the Sanctuary for
our 2001 AROC convention in Nashville (Hohenwald is about 50 miles from
here), but I'm not counting on it. The elephants there are not on display.
Also, I know at least one of the Alfas I've owned could be considered
something of a "white elephant"!
