<I was under the impression that these are two completely different <motors,
<the inferior being the final development of the ancient Alfa four, and <the
<superior having a TS head on what is otherwise a modern Fiat motor.

the oldest TS engine 8V (1995 cm3) was (ancient Alfa ;) )
completely different engine, and the new 16V (1970cm3 -spring 95 in Alfa
155 ) and the latest one used in 156 is same just that intake
difference.
