GTV6 brain f*rt

I was driving home last night from the bay area (SF) after two mechanicals
(leaky fuel fittings and then broken clutch pivot, more later) and a Negra
Modelo Mexican beer... when I started thinking about GTV leather seats and
hoiw the drivers side is always torn up but the passenger side is always
perfect. First I thought of getting as passenger side seat, tearing it
apart and reassembling with drivers side mechanicals when I had a true
brain f*rt! Why not get torn up driver's seats from the UK! They sit in the
wrong seat anyway! We can send them our good passenger seats in return...

Whaddaya think?

The clutch pivot broke at 5:30 pm. I thought for sure I was going to spend
the night in the bay area but a call to Eddie at Silicon Valley Performance
found that he was going to be there late that night. He ably extracted the
broken pieces, installed a new pivot and a new slave cylinder and I was
out the door by 7:15! We were going to stick around that long anyway to
wait for traffic to "lighten up" (ha!).

That is another great thing about owning an Alfa (or any oddball/collector
car)... you know where all the shops are and they generally will go out of
their way when you are stranded to help you. I was thinking as I waited for
the tow truck what would I have done if I'd had a Honda. I wouldn't have
had any idea where to have thet damn thing dragged...
