164 Air Bag Code

Need help...I recently replaced my stepper motors successfully, but now have
a flashing airbag warning light.  Code I get is 42 (warning circuit), but I
cannot clear the code out of the memory as outlined in the service bulletin.
Wires were never disconnected from the airbag ECU.   I've tried numerous
times to clear the code, but no dice.  Any ideas?
