dash-cracking conclusion

Well I just wanted to thank everyone for their inputs into the dash-cracking
inquiry.
I've been using a leather/vinyl restorer on the dash since I bought the car,
and it seems to be keeping the dash 
from 'drying out'. I will continue this practice, and get a dash cover for
those really brutal summer days. 
As for the cold, I don't have to worry about that cause my dear Sofia sleeps
indoors in the winter time quietly awaiting the spring thaw here in Canada.
