GTV-6 TA: pop goes the..??? Part II

Hey Folks,

First let me thank those who responded to my original plea for help.
Unfortunately, it does not seem to be the cheap and easy problem of a
clutch disc frozen to the pressure plate. I tried starting it in gear
with the clutch disengaged, but to no avail.
Next, I got under the car and looked at the pivot pin to see if it
was broken. Well, so much for the inexpensive and relatively easy
solution: the pin appears intact, and after having someone opertate the
clutch whilst I peered into the tranny through the hole for the fork,
everthing appears to be working as intended, yet I still cannot engage a
gear.
So, any ideas? A friend of mine speculates that the pressure plate
springs have collapsed, which would definitely put me into the costly
and mildly troublesome catagory. I plan to do some exploratory surgery
by taking off the clutch housing and seeing what's up. Fortunately,
I've heard this is an easy operation, I just need to study up on the Car
Disc. Does anyone know how far the plunger on the slave cylinder should
be moving? Mine's at least 1 1/2" I would think this is enough. Any
thoughts are appreciated.
