Brake Light switch

Hello.  Returning from a long drive downhill today (using mostly 2nd gear to 
slow down), the brake lights went out.  The "Brake" and "Stop" lights were 
both on, and none of the brake lights went on.  The bulbs were Ok, because 
the taillights would work, so it is probably part of the wiring.  Any ideas? 
I'm guessing that it's the switch, can someone tell me where it is located?
