Similarly, I don't think FIAT is going to leave all decisions about Maser 
sales in the US to the Ferrari Div. with the notion that they will sell to 
the Ferrari buyers.  I am sure they can spell cannibalism.  How would that 
help them?  

However, I continue to agree it doesn't seem to be in the Agnelli genes to 
spend the kind of adv. money it takes to be a player in the US market, 
especially when the product's image is so heavily tainted and the overall 
market for the category (private automobiles) is shrinking at the expense of 
trucks and SUVs.

So much the worse for us all, but I believe this is true.
