1750 GTV dashboard.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to John Hertzman for his reply about the speedo and tacho in the GTV.
They are warming on top of the heater in our loungeroom and are gradually
clearing of fog.

On the weekend we pulled out the dashboard, centre console, and handbrake
console from the GTV for repair. I'm going to have them "re-skinned" by a
specialist here in Melbourne. I want to remove the timber from the dash,
except some of the clips that hold the trim on are inside the glovebox. Can
I remove the glovebox to get access to those? Cardisc seems to show it held
on by two screws, although the glovebox on my dashboard appears to be
rivetted as well. Any ideas?

I have read the excellent description of how to replace the timber, by
Lawrence Gowin - http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/5949/veneer.html
Great stuff!

Another question - on the picture linked to below, there is a clip (circled
here in green). I'm missing those - am I correct to read that they join the
gearstick console to the handbrake console? Do the clips straddle the gap
between the two consoles? I'll have to try to find some.
