Re: Rear Seatbelts in a 74 GTV?

It's pretty easy to do. You can buy a generic set of lap belts at most
large auto parts stores. The car body has captive nuts welded into the
sheet metal from underneath. If you take the lower back seat out, you can
dig around in the sound deadening material to find them. Another way to
find them after the seat is out is to go under the car and look for the
captive nuts. Poke something through the holes to make them visible from
the top. The bolts should be 7/16-20 SAE. Use Grade 8 bolts. Make sure
you thread the belt webbing through the mounting hardware properly. Read
the instructions carefully. Most car seats have instructions for using
only a lap belt. Again, read the instructions carefully.

In case you're wondering about that 7/16-20 SAE bolt size, I think Alfa
used that because seat belts were mostly a US requirement. 7/16-20 SAE
is very close to 11x1.25mm, but I measured it and the SAE was a better
fit. Go figure.
