'86 Spider w/'77 engine - smog test

If the inspection is the same as done here in ATL, they won't look under
the hood to check what's there; however, you will have to pass the '86
standards.  Webers will make it hard because they typically run rich in
the 2000-3000 rpm range where the test is run at load.  Fortunately,
they can be easily re-jetted.

You will likely need the cat.  The best advice I can give you is to take
the Alfa to Italian Motor Works in Smyrna and talk to Hans.  He's a real
wizard and you're going to need some really knowledgeable help.
