Re: Dremel -- why?

Well, as anticipated in the first line of the original response -- but it
ought to have generated enough information for the gentleman in Australia
to go looking for what is available at what price there. (The COSCO I
currently use was $2 at a garage sale -- if Dermel are similarly
available there, by all means; buy two -- one to note that at 20k,
touching anything slows it -- and to get the sense of how much more
slowing before the armature fries.)

Why the Alfa? Because it was the only way I could approach the sparkle of
a Giulietta Spider Veloce for $750 in 1962; because it was the only way I
could approximate it for $3150 (new in Germany for a Sprint GT) in 1966;
because it was the only sedan available in the US in 1976 again with that
sparkle (and with far better space utilization than any domestic product)
at the'75 list or under; and the only approach to an "ultimate driving
machine" [someone's comment in a prior post] for $600 in 1994 ('84 GTV6).
Always an Alfa from 1962 through today at a total investment around 10K.
Not bad.  Deal me another.
