ABS Milano brakes

Add another to the Milano brakes thread:

The ABS on my Werde works only intermittently, yeah i know it's supposed to
work sort of intermittently, pulsatingly, but what i mean is that the
anti-lock warning light comes on and the brakes can be wocked up completely
- - sometimes (the situation usually resets itself with the ignition off).

Able to produce lots of blue rubber-smelling smoke.

It all started after having all the brakes and hubs and stuff apart - so
what is most likely? The one sensor that has a cracked housing, or the gap
adjustment between sensors and tooth wheels or, Something Else?

Any opinions?

As for the other problems in this brakes thread, No it's definitely Not
Normal for the pedal to sink to the bottom before having effect.
And as for the Rock Hard pedal, sounds like a loss of Boost, if so the car
would still stop but with a really high effort on the pedal. And if it is a
loss of boost, then the ABS pump would have to be at fault - but then again,
since the pump is really costly, you might check the hoses to and fro to
make sure they haven't collapsed inside to create a sort of check valve
effect.
