164 Engine Service Indicator

On late UK spec 164's the flashing code is activated
by putting a wire from a +12V feed, through a bulb (max
1.2W), through a 1Kohm resistor and then to pin 8 of
the motronic control unit. The turn the ignition on and
press the accelerator pedal 5 times in less than 5
seconds.

This is taken from a preview copy of "164 / 164 Super

that I managed to pick up.
