Your lack of knowledge on this topic is glaring.  If you intend to make an argument regarding automotive import/export/emmissions regulations/labor costs/Alfa Romeo's departure/etc., make a cohesive argument and substantiate it with references.  Otherwise, spare us the meaningless praddle.

As to Alfa Romeo's sale to FIAT and withdrawl from the US market - it is a fascinating story well documented in Agnelli's biography and the Alfa issue of Classic Sportcar (interestingly enough, the main article summarizing the company's history focused on the joint project with Nissan resulting in the ARNA as the company's nadir before the recent renaissance - I would have thought the rust/reliability problems with the Alfasud would have taken that distinction.....) both printed some ten years ago. You might want to start there.....
