how much torque to push a V6 mechanical timing belt detensioner

Greetings,

My 87 Milano Silver has a mechanical timing belt detensioner.  This
detensioner was installed by the previous owner.  As a result, I don't 
have any installation instruction sheet with me.   Does anybody know
how much torque I need to apply to the square hole to push the big
roller against the timing belt?
