Sounds like front a-arm bushings. 164 front ends are pretty simple.
A-arms bushings can be replaced by changing the arm and rear housing or
with the SuperPros, (my biased favotite).

SuperPro soft urethane is more durable than rubber, and Dug, you've
driven Sofia, you know how they feel.
