1750 canister air cleaners

Ken Lee asked about his 1750 air cleaner (a cylindrical canister on carb
side), and Brian Shorey answered with a brief description of two variants he
had seen. I was starting to answer Ken when Brian's post came in.

The 1750 Euro parts book shows two slightly different versions of that air
cleaner. The later of the two is used on the 2000s and Giulia Nuovas, and has
a nosepiece which runs down to a matching hole in the bulkhead next to the
radiator. (See Fusi p.663). Both types have a flexible duct ('Tubo' in
Italian, 'Pipe' in English, but 'Tuyo d'amenee d'air chaud' in French, thus a
warm air duct) running down to an 'air socket body' (Corpo presa aria) which
has a bracket that ties into the motor mount and another bracket? (Etracket
in English, Staffa in Italian, Bugel in German, Etrier in French, most of
which translate as stirrup or hanger) which supports a 'spacer' and 'gum
ring' ('Distanziale e Anello gomma in Italian, Abstandstuck + Gummiring in
German, Entretoise + Bague caoutchouc in French) whose purposes are unclear
to me. The canister with the nosepiece seems to have a flap for the driver to
select warm or cold air. The drawing of the canister without the nosepiece
seems to have a second opening on the engine side, which is probably one of
the openings Brian mentions.

I'm not sure if the Europarts are in the 1750 cardisc or not- they should be.
I think both Ken and Brian may be missing a part or two, and that it could be
useful to look at the parts book. If they don't have local access I could
photocopy the pages and snailmail them.
