Spider trunk supports

The trunk supports on my 1987 Spider Quadrifoglio are broken and I'm 
having a hard time forcing them into position to install new 
brackets.  If anyone has a photo of how the assembly should look I'd 
be most appreciative of a peek at it.  Any tips would also be great. 
It's turning out to be more difficult than I expected to install 
those tiny brackets.
