164 Ticking

Try checking the valve clearances and if they are okay ceck for valve guide
wear. My last 164 had two exhaust valves with excessive clearance that made
a ticking noise. The noise tended to vary depending on oil used and oil
level. If it is valve guide wear it won't pose any immediate threat.
Checking the valve clearance is a bastard and may have been avoided by the
previous mechanic.
