RE: 164 drop subframe



The 164 Q and post 1993 models had spacers about 12mm thick between the body
mounts and the subframe. You can see this quite clearly on these cars. The
engine sits noticeably lower relative to the strut tops and if you look or
feel under the car the mounts are readily evident. They are literally just
steel blocks. The reason for this is to make the reduce the angle of the
driveshafts.

when you said "we dropped the subframe on this car as per the
164 Q specs and it makes an appreciable difference to torque steer and
general "solidness" on the road"

What do you refer to by "drop subframe"?? Thanks!
