Let me get this straight: you wound up with a nice 92 spider and he got a 
project Jaguar -- and YOU'RE complaining?!

Do not worry about retribution or trying to smooth out something emotional 
with money.  That can't work.  You will have a great time driving that Alfa 
for probably 20 years if you continue to avoid deer, and he will get his from 
Lucas, Prince of Darkness.
