Police and Window Tint

I have to second what Ed G wrote about police and window tint. Nothing
scares a cop more than a traffic stop where they can't see the driver.

As to attitude, I know with certainty that I got out of many tickets by
being nice to the officer. The following advice was given to me by a police
acquaintance in South Florida.

If you get pulled over, open your window, turn off your car, turn on the
hazards, turn on the dome light (if it's dark outside) and keep your hands
where they can see them. If you must go rummaging for your reg, license and
insurance card, tell them what and where you are looking BEFORE you do so.

These guys just want to get home at the end of their shift without having to
worry about the next traffic stop. Give them a break.
