I think you just answered your own question. Congrats on finding it so
quickly. See, like I always say, the fastest way to find a problem is NOT
to email the Digest, it's to LOOK under the car. ;=)
There isn't supposed to any side play in the distributor shaft. Unless you
want to spend time and money having somebody try to repair that one, I
think the most expedient approach is to get hold of a good used one and
just pop it in there.
