Found a company that will modify stock ZF 164 auto trans torque
converters to enhance performance.  Increase in stall speed is 300-800
above stock for the recomended unit, which is low-key enough to be
suitable for a street car.  Cost is up there, a shade under $400, on
an exchange basis.

They are also campaigning a ten second auto trans 300 ZX, so I guess
they know how to make products that can take some abuse.
