75/Milano AFM

I think I've read on the digest before about replacing the stock AFM from a 75 3.0 (Milano Verde) with a BMW unit for better performance. Could somebody please refresh my memory on this subject, as to what benefits, what unit, part no. etc, as I never really paid so much attention to the subject
until buying one recently.

Also, are there any other engine mods to be recommended (cams etc)?
