164 Windshield Replacement

Is there something difficult about replacing the windshield in a 164?

I had the 164 at the body shop to have the sunroof repainted (clearcoat
self destructed) and to have the windshield replaced. I went to get the
car but the windshield had not been replaced.

The guy at the shop (hereinafter, "Mr. Bumpkin") said, "We ain't never
replaced the windshield in no Afro Romero, or whatever. Wheeze afraid
we'd hurt the headliner or some of the trim. I think it takes a special
knife or sumpin. You gonna have to git that done somewheres else."

Now, granted, I live in rural Mississippi; but, it seems to me, as a
general rule, a windshield is a windshield. Many newer cars and vans
have well integrated windshields. I've had winshields repaced in my
milano and my wife's former saab 9k without much gripe from the
installer (I now live about 250 miles from the installer I used to use,
however).

Could Mr. Bumpkin be right or is his shop just cowardly?

Thanks,
