Driving an Alfa again

Ok gang,

I picked up the Alfetta last evening, and it's ...
different ... from the sports sedan, GT, (and of
Milano/75) that I've owned.

I need to fit a shorter gearstick to it; this one is
far too long. My thoughts are to find one from an
Alfetta GT. Anybody got any thoughts on this?

The accelerator pedal is far too high for my comfort.
I need to fit some sort of kit like the heel-toe kit
that one could get from AR Alfa Ricambi. The trouble
is, those were made for LHD cars, and in Oz we drive
on the other side of the road. And of the car.

I need to find out if something similar is available
in Oz (any Oz readers listening?), or failing that,
have something similar made up. Considering that this
will be significantly different from the Ricambi unit
(which I don't think they may any more anyway), could
somebody please email me with rough drawings of the
unit as it sits in their car? I need to look ander the
bonnet of mine and see how/if something similar could
be done here.

The car feels quite solid, and the engine has tons of
torque. Dell'Orto equipped, the only problem I'm
experiencing seems to be fuel delivery related. She
seems a little fluffy at times, and stalled out a
couple of times on the way home. Restarting is
difficult when she's warm. A couple of times she
wouldn't restart immediately, but after letter her
stand for 15 or 20 minutes she started again.

My guesses are either something like a vapour lock or
a pump issue. Thoughts people?
