Mark, 

Super post on the springs.  FWIW, I have some measurements I made on the 
stock GTV 2000 USA spec springs.  Unfortunately, I didn't measure the number 
of coils.  

Bruce Giller: can you take a look at your old GTV springs to fill in the 
gaps?

Here's the info I have on the springs:

Stock USA 115 GTV: (sorry for the English units, but they are USA spec 
springs, afterall :)
 
Front: unloaded length: 13 1/8"; wire dia: 0.655" 
Rear: unloaded length: 18.5"; wire dia: 0.440"

Here's some other info for comparsion purposes:

Shankel Super Sport Springs:

Front: unloaded length: 11.25"; wire dia: 0.698"
Rear: unloaded length: 16"; wire dia: 0.535"

Warde and Dean (I think.... they are yellow, anyway):

Front: unloaded length: (later...); wire dia: ~0.8"
Rear: unloaded length: 14.25"; wire dia: 0.535"; # coils: ~12
