To rust proof the Italian way

Save your drained engine oil, remove the collected dust out of your
household vacuum cleaner and mix the two to consistency you can brush on
everything in sight under the car and while you're at it, plaster the stuff
behind every door panel and any place water-moisture can get in. Put it on
heavy, let excess drain out in the dirt road for a full day before parking
in the garage or driveway you want to keep clean.  Why does it work?  Well,
look under the car where leaking oil and dirt has covered cross members and
chassis parts, you'll find no rust underneath.  Fred Di Matteo
