little oil in, maybe turn it over with a wrench every week or two? The
crankcase is currently drained of oil, so maybe I ought to refill it first.

I had a fire-breathing '68 AMX (still can't believe that a Rambler could have
been so fast!) laid up for 8 years, then drove it on a 600 mile Interstate
trip with no "warm-up" trips. Besides being lucky, I followed some advice I
got from a local mechanic: remove the plugs and pour about 2 ounces of diesel
fluid in each cylinder and reinstall the plugs. And definitely change the
oil and filter. You don't want any acid in the oil eating away your engine!
If you aren't going to have the engine down for years then you might use a
little less diesel fuel.
